GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Is it possible to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and on whom it depends? The Word of God tells us, that those who are guided by the Holy Spirit, have the nature of God’s sons and daughters. Does it refer to all believers, without exception? Of course not! Are all believers guided by God? Have all infants in Christ have turned into mature sons? Regrettably, but not all.

Believers think that the guidance of the Holy Spirit comes automatically after their agreement, or visa versa — that it depends on His will and actions. But God is not going to do His will in contradiction to your will and choice. No! It’s a result of your training in hearing Him and walking with Him. And as a result of it — the devotion of your life to His will. Then, about whom does Apostle Paul speak? About 12 Apostles only? Some denominations are just «bathing» in false revelations. But what do believers think about guidance of God? What does it look like? Is it like a «fairy-tale flying carpet», where they are only sitting in a cozy chair with their eyes closed, having given themselves wholly into His hands, and thinking about nothing? And that’s why God can use them the way He likes to (just like automatic robots)? These thoughts are coming from demons. But you may say: sometimes it happens just this way. I agree with you. It can happen sometimes, episodically. God also uses unbelievers this way. He also used a donkey, according to this very principle, to speak to the prophet. But Paul doesn’t speak about this guidance. Can infants do the will of their parents? No, they can’t. But when they grow up, and become more responsible, they gradually start understanding their parents better and better. The same is happening with faith. There are stages, when we grow up and get more mature. But for this we must live by Gospel, desperately wishing to do the will of God (so that your dreams and His dreams coincided not only when you are sleeping and see visions). You must aspire to know His will with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength. You must serve day and night, and then there will be no problems, — you will be guided by His Spirit (because desires and goals coincide). And gradually you’ll become a son, but not an eternal infant. You may proclaim God’s guidance on your life. You may ask God for it. But you may grow to the level of a son consciously — by devoting yourself and fulfilling His Word, — and you will come into His guidance. Make your choice. It’s your personal decision. God has nothing to do to it, it doesn’t depend on Him. Will He use you from time to time? Yes, He will! But Paul speaks not bout it (Rom.8:14). Everything must be honest. It’s He who expects that you will be guided by Him, not you who expect guidance from Him (like in a lottery, who will be more lucky to win it). If you want to be guided by the Holy Spirit — then sacrifice your life for the sake of the Gospel, and you will be guided by Him! It’s not enough only to pray in your secret room, and to proclaim it at your home church. We worship God in a prayer (in Spirit), in truth (in the Word) and in doing what we have read and heard. But if we close our eyes, we can find ourselves under another guidance, and under a different spirit. AMEN!
