A Parable about the seed

Let’s regard the principle of action of one of the keys of the Kingdom of God — the SEED! In Gospel of Mark chapter 4 we are reading the parable about a sower, and Jesus warns His disciples in Mark 4:13. If you don’t understand this parable about the seed, you will not be able to understand the Gospel at all. Firstly, the Lord makes a stress on understanding, which participates in the knowledge of Christ (it makes us think). Secondly, on the example of how the seed is acting, Jesus shows us the existence of fundamental revelations, (and there are not a plenty of them) in order to understand how the Kingdom God lives and moves inside you. If you are not digging deep into the Gospel every day, you will never understand God’s will for your own life, but God will not open it to anyone else but you personally. Neither prophets, nor apostles will open to you the will of God on your life. Everything in the Kingdom of God is based on the action described in the parable about the sower and the seed. This is the fundamental principle for understanding other parables and principles of God. For example, our personal time is our basic resource, a seed which we sow either into eternal life or into enjoyments of this life. Our power and money is also a seed etc. Also there in chapter 4 (Mark 4:26-29) there is one more parable about the seed, also in Mark 4:30-32 we also have a proverb on the example of the seed. By this God underlines the importance of the principle. So, the Word of God is the seed! The Bible is the Book of seeds, of the words of God, of His principles, which must get into a good soil in order to bring the fruit. It’s very difficult to put the seed into the heart of man, but it’s still more difficult to ensure its growth. A pastor has to fast and to pray much for the newly-born, he must serve this person until the seed gives sprout (he must take the newly-born to the level of personal faith). Of course, not everything depends on the pastor, but much more depends on him, than on the newly-born. And this picture gets much stronger, when the speech is about ministers, for whom somebody has to pray, to be an intercessor, to be devoted to God for them, to sow finances into them, to sow revelations and everything else you have.

So the first soil regarded by Christ is people who don’t understand the Word (you heard the song but got it wrong). Satan robs without problem the things which man didn’t understand. If you learn something just by heart — it will not work in your faith and satan will rob it all the same. The second soil is people who have understood the word and even accepted it with joy and inspiration. But after the first persecutions for their faith which are sure to come, they lose the seed. As soon as the seed gets into your heart, devil is sure to raise persecutions in order to rob this seed. You may tell — I’ve been staying with God for 3 years already and no persecutions. It happens only because you don’t have the seed of the Gospel. You simply emotionally agree with the Gospel clapping your hands during a sermon. The second type — concerns of this age and devotion to the concerns of this age. Concerns of this age choke the seed and it as if remains without fruit. People can’t lose their life for the world, John 12:25 and in the end it swallows them up and takes them after itself.

Here are my personal observations of the process how believers lose their revelations: many seeds disappear just because they get dug out (Mark 4:26-29). You got revelation and at once shared it with another believer (that is, you dug out the seed, Mark 4:26-29) and the seed disappeared. It often happens that you readdress your personal revelation to somebody else, in spite of the fact it was addressed to you. And it looks like basketball. The seed disappears. If you came to ask for advice: was it really God who gave me this revelation? You spoke about this revelation aloud, and that is all — it disappeared. The maximum you did was meditating over this revelation and then you switched off your attention to another thing, but you dropped the first revelation, having not finished the matter.

Sprout with the fruit it’s when you keep the seed in your heart and take care of it like Mary did. And nobody knows it but God and devil. And only when you many times fulfill this word and when you live according to it, you make it flesh — that is, you get convinced in it. This is the way your faith is growing. It often happens that when you get a seed, you need a better one, a newer one. You can be sure it is lost. If you get into arguments with a pharisee who graduated from 5 or 8 biblical schools, proving to him the revelation given to you by God, you have to be sure it’s almost time. Satan has a lot of his agents in the church, but you think this is an experienced believer. My observations: if a believer is running to evangelization (the war) scattering what he received from God, and what God put into him — nothing will work. There is the time when the seed must be hidden and it must be kept not only by the newly-born, but also by his pastor (fasting, prayer for him etc). In order to have sprouts, the seed firstly must put the root, and this period can last for many years (Mark 4:26-29). And only after that it grows up. It’s clear to everyone that it requires time and patience. There is one more thing: for the seed to sprout in you, somebody has to pay the price, but it is not Jesus. Somebody must be taking care and keeping the seed, watering it (it means prayer and fasting). Evidently, it’s not the newly-born who has to do this. Paul says about pains of bearing (in Galatians 4:19), until Christ grows in his disciples (it means His word, which is the seed). This is what we are talking about. This is what pastors have to give birth to. Often persecutions come into pastors’ lives because the seed of faith appeared in their disciples and started its growth. Of course, the devotion and life without sin and offense is the duty of the newly born. Naturally, their domestic people or people surrounding them can assist the demons, (can be the agents of satan) and choke the sprouts or trample them down. Nevertheless, in order that God could grow the seed, somebody has to plant it, and possibly he must water the seed (I mean fasting with prayer) for God to grow it up, as Paul told, because God can grow nothing without help of ministers (I mean their intercession and payer). God’s will for you is written in the Word of God. But for you to understand it, somebody has to pay the price. Of course much depends on the quality of the word which has been dissolved in you and put into practice. If you want to realize God’s will on your life quicker, you have to stay more time in His Word. And of course you have to think over it, giving this seed a chance to sprout in you and bring the fruit (the fruit means that the word, which you received as revelation, becomes flesh in your life). Amen!
